Tree of Wishes Volunteer

Position Title: Tree of Wishes Volunteer

Purpose: Tree of Wishes Volunteers are the public-facing ambassadors of our annual Christmas program. Volunteers help promote the Tree of Wishes campaign at either Hillside Shopping Centre or Westshore Shopping Centre.  The Tree of Wishes features Santa Bear ornaments with special gift requests for children. Donors select an ornament, purchase a gift, and return the gift to our table.

Locations: Hillside Shopping Centre and Westshore Shopping Centre

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote the Tree of Wishes campaign
• Assist donors and answer questions
• Collect and record monetary donations
• Provide a welcoming and positive experience for donors and members of the public

Reports to: Tree of Wishes Lead

Time Commitment: Late November to late December. Volunteers are asked to commit to three (3) or more shifts, with each shift lasting three (3) hours.

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable interacting with members of the public
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work flexible hours
• Friendly, approachable, and dependable

Support Provided: Training and orientation will be provided.
