Tree of Wishes Lead
Position Title: Tree of Wishes Lead
Purpose: The Tree of Wishes Lead is responsible for coordinating the Tree of Wishes campaign within their location. Each Tree of Wishes Lead helps organize and schedule volunteers to assist donors with selecting Bears, dropping off gifts and processing financial donations. The Tree of Wishes holds Santa Bear ornaments with descriptions of gifts that can be purchased for children and teens in the Santas program. These Bear ornaments can be chosen by donors, fulfilled and returned back to a Tree of Wishes location to help children in need, no matter what the need…year round.
Location: Hillside Shopping Centre and Westshore Shopping Centre
Key Responsibilities:
- Organization and scheduling of volunteers (with assistance of the Volunteer Scheduler). Ensure there are sufficient volunteers for each shift, volunteers are present at each shift, all volunteers are given an opportunity to participate and maintain a log of volunteer attendance for shifts
- Provide support for volunteers as needed. Be available as needed
- Assist Volunteer Management with training of volunteers
- Use debit terminal and instruct volunteers in use of debit terminal
- Ensure volunteers have completed necessary consent forms. (Management maintains forms)
- Manage bin supplies
- Daily reporting on activity as required
- Participate in meetings, Zoom or in-person, approximately once per week from mid-October to mid-November

Reports to: Tree of Wishes Manager
Time Commitment: Mid October to late December - hours as required
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills and good with the public.
- Good organization skills and task oriented.
- Basic computer and email skills. Willingness to learn and use a debit terminal and process financial transactions.
- Ability to work independently and also be a team player.
- Willing to work flexible hours
