Position Title: Special Events Volunteer
Purpose: The Special Events Volunteer provides support to the Executive Director, and Executive Assistant. The Special Events Volunteer helps with duties required for special events such as taking donations, setup and tear down of events, the coordination of event collateral (supplies required for event: signage, donation boxes, tables, chairs etc), and any other needs required for various special events.
Location: Office and remotely as well as various event locations around the Greater Victoria Area
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring special events email and assisting donors with their events/ parties/ fundraisers;
- Staffing donation tables at events;
- Aid in coordinating supplies required for events;
- Help with set up and tear down of events
Attend team meetings
Reports to: Executive Director, Executive Assistant
Liaisons With: Communications Team (Social Media, Website, Santa Bear)
Time Commitment:
September through December hours vary but average 5 hours per week
Office hours are Monday through Friday – 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Various events throughout the year.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated interpersonal, organization skills
- Comfortable interacting with the public
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Ability to learn customized database environment
- Ability to work independently and also be a team player
- Willing to work flexible hours
